Cocktails by the Bay 2022

Over 200 guests gathered for cocktails in the garden at the bay front home of Roger and Sava Thomas on Saturday, August 13th to celebrate the generosity of all those who contributed to the highly successful projects launched by The Bellport Village Program Fund.

As a result of this successful event and contributions, we are able to continue with another year of Bite Back against mosquitoes and flies at Ho Hum and Mothers Beaches and at the Bandshell Park. We will also continue raking the seaweed and debris with our new Beach Raker on the beaches at the Marina Beach, the Bandshell Park, and Mother's Beach.

In addition, we are excited to have raised sufficient funds for executing the 3 other major projects at Mother’s Beach: (i) two new pieces of playground equipment, (ii) over 300 tons of new sand allowing for this equipment, and most importantly (iii) a new and attractive automated gate which will now provide daytime access to Mothers Beach 365 days a year!

Family Night at Mother's Beach

The Sixth Annual Family Night at Mother's Beach was held on July 23, 2022.  Flo’s truck was a huge success as usual and with FoBB oyster seeding into the bay, and Paddleboarding intro by Get Up Stand Up, a good time was had by all.

Bellport Bay 5K 2022

After a 2-year delay, the Bellport Village Program Fund (BVPF)  launched the newly christened Bellport Bay 5K on Sunday, July 10, 2022! Over 328 runners registered and the turnout was huge! It started with a 50 yard Fun Run for kids of all ages. Then there was a festive post-run awards ceremony in the Bandshell Park, featuring free food from Elite Feats and Shelby’s Kitchen for the runners , plus an open grill from Shelby’s Kitchen featuring hamburgers, hotdogs and sausage and peppers. The top 3 winners of each category received BB5K medals and every runner received a BB5K souvenir T-shirt with all the sponsors listed on the back. Some of these times were very fast - many below 20 minutes for a 5K!

All proceeds from race registrations and tax-deductible sponsorships, after race-related expenses, will go to benefit the BVPF. Thank you all for your continuing support!!
